Comfort Words Initiative

Rang Cunningham were practising their letter writing with their English múinteoir this week. They decided to take part in the Comfort Words Initiative in Ireland. This campaign is encouraging children to support older people during this difficult time by writing to them. With almost 30,000 people across the country are in nursing home care, children can fulfil an important role in promoting positivity amongst residents and maintaining contacts in the weeks ahead by connecting with them. Well done Rang Cunningham!

Dinosaur in CNI

At a time when we all believed Covid 19 was the greatest threat to dáltaí and múinteoirí in Coláiste na hInse, a dinosaur rampaged through an Danlann on a Friday morning. Despite initial fears, the dinosaur was a friendly vegetarian, content on a socially distant visit to the school.

Successful School Re-opening

Coláiste na hInse would like to thank all parents and students for their assistance in the successful re-opening of the school. There have been a number of changes in the school, including the wearing of face masks, new sanitisation procedures, split lunches and a new one-way system. Our dáltaí have adjusted to these new conditions with grace, dignity and indeed great humour, and we are very proud of their collaboration.

Inion McCarrick Leaves Coláiste na hInse

Coláiste na hInse marked the final day of Inion Anne Marie McCarrick’s time as principal with the ringing of the original school bell and a final address from Príomhoide. Inion McCarrick has served as Príomhoide of Coláiste na hInse since its foundation, with the school beginning with 79 students in the Neptune Hotel in 2008. She began with a clear philosophy of bród, uaillmhian and dearfachas, and these ideas have become the pillars of this school. She leaves after more than a decade captaining our ship, through incredible successes and many challenging moments. We wish her every luck in her new venture!
