Tomi Reichental Visits Coláiste na hInse
Coláiste na hInse were honoured to have Tomi Reichental speaking to our Idirbliain, 5ú and 6ú dáltaí on Tuesday, January 13th. Tomi spoke about the horrors of his time as a child of nine years old in Bergen Belsen Concentration Camp. The harrowing truth of the Holocaust was relived by Tomi in order to give dáltaí a real understanding of the events during World War II. Students asked him questions after about the rise of anti-semitic parties in Europe, to which he had one simple message, “Never be a bystander”. Tomi thanked the daltai for their respect as they gave him a standing ovation at the end of his difficult story. Words cannot thank him enough for speaking to us and letting us see just how horrific the events that he lived through were. Thanks to Tomi and Joyce for giving up their time to come to Coláiste na hInse. They were presented with a basket of bulbs which represent the good things in nature, and to remember those innocent minds of the children that were taken in the Holocaust.
