CólaistenahInse – Soccer

CNI Soccer has a proud history since the inception of the Cólaiste in the local community and continues to cater for local players to showcase their talents on the field. CNI Soccer caters for both girls and boys across several age groups. These age groups include first year, under 15, under 17 and under 19s.

CNI Girls teams have been extremely competitive in recent years due to the hard work of both coaches and players! Our most recent silverware came from Junior Girls, who won a League Title in 2017! Our teams are going from strength to strength and hope to achieve some more silverware in the coming season! Past star players include Katie Burdis, who plies her trade in the Women’s National League for the DLR Waves, and Ellie Ferguson, who is currently involved in the American College circuit with Ohio University Soccer. Notable mentions must go to Caireann Bracken and Maeve Duke who have set a positive example for younger players in the Colaiste and continue to play soccer since leaving CNI. We are excited to see how our talented players perform this year as they play forthe Cólaiste, teams in Dublin and the locality!

CNI Boys have recorded victories across all age groups. In First year, we reached the finals of the Meath and Leinster Futsal tournaments. We also recorded a North Leinster title at the same age group in 2018. At U-15 level, our boys won the North Leinster League Title as well as an incredible first for the Cólaiste with anAll-Ireland win in 2019! Our U17s also won the North Leinster League Title in 2019. Our U19s panel were victorious in a dramatic penalty shoot-out to win the school’s first ever League Title at that level! CNI Boys Soccer Alumni include Evan Ferguson who is currently performing to a great level for Brighton U-23s and has represented Ireland in several age groups. His most recent debut for Ireland U-21s sparks great promise for his future in the game! Our Alumni also includes past student Cian Quinn, who is currently playing for Davenport Panthers in the United States.

CNI Soccer owes a great debt of gratitude to coaches and parents involved withLaytown United, Donacarney Celtic, and East Meath Unitedto name a few for producing excellent talent that we are fortunate to have at our disposal!
