Ryan Tubridy to Chair Special 10 Year Anniversary Debate in CNI

10 Year Anniversary

On May 21st as part of the 10 Year Anniversary of Coláiste na hInse in Bettystown, the coastal school will host not one but two commemorative debates to celebrate the successes of the Coláiste’s debaters on the national stage.

The first, the Coláiste na hInse “Legacy Debate” will be chaired by RTE Star Ryan Tubridy and will see the Coláiste’s upcoming debaters, coached by senior debating champions, demonstrate their oratorical skills in front of a packed lunchtime audience in the school’s library.

The second debate, taking place at 7pm in the main foyer of the school (“An Grianan”) is the “10 Year Anniversary Public Debate.” This special event will see no fewer than seven national champions, two provincial champions and two brave teachers debate on the motion – The Irish Education System has Failed its Young People. The debate will be judged by the current Irish Debating Coach, Aodhan Peelo and will also see Fianna Fail Education Spokesperson, Thomas Byrne will speak against the motion. This event is open to members of the public and entry is free.
